Rent an e-bike: apply online, collect at Carshalton HQ

BR E-BIKES — RENTAL AGREEMENT
By signing electronically, you confirm that you have read, understood and agreed to the following terms:

A security deposit is required when collecting the bike.

The deposit CANNOT be used to pay weekly rental fees.

The deposit may be used to cover damage, missing or damaged parts, batteries, chargers, keys, locks, accessories, recovery costs or other amounts for which the customer is responsible.

If the amount owed exceeds the deposit, the customer must pay the difference.

The minimum rental period is 30 days.

If the bike is returned before the minimum 30-day period, the customer will lose the full security deposit.

After the first 30 days, the rental automatically continues on a weekly basis until properly cancelled.

Rent is paid weekly using the agreed payment method.

If payment is more than 24 hours late, a £5 daily late fee will apply.

The bike may be remotely locked while payment remains overdue.

Remote locking does not cancel the rental or remove any outstanding debt.

Punctures and tyre damage are NOT covered by BR E-BIKES.

The customer is responsible for:

• maintaining the correct tyre pressure;
• arranging puncture repairs;
• paying tyre-related repair costs;
• not riding the bike with a flat or seriously underinflated tyre.

Damage caused by riding with incorrect tyre pressure is the customer's responsibility.

The bike is rented exclusively to the customer who signed this agreement.

The customer must NOT lend, sublet, rent or regularly allow another person to use the bike without permission from BR E-BIKES.

Violation may result in the bike being locked and/or the rental agreement being terminated.

The customer is responsible for damage caused by misuse, negligence or accidents.

The customer is also responsible for missing, lost or damaged:

• batteries;
• chargers;
• keys;
• locks;
• accessories;
• bike components.

Normal wear and tear from proper use is excluded.

If repair or replacement costs exceed the security deposit, the customer must pay the difference.

The customer must take reasonable precautions to protect the bike against theft and loss.

This includes correctly using the locks, alarm and security systems provided.

Negligence includes, but is not limited to:

• leaving the bike switched on and unattended;
• leaving the bike unlocked or inadequately secured;
• failing to use the provided/recommended security equipment;
• leaving the bike in an obviously unsafe location;
• removing the battery where this compromises the security/tracking system;
• removing, disconnecting, damaging or interfering with the GPS tracker.

If the bike is stolen or lost due to the customer's negligence and cannot be recovered, the customer must pay the full replacement value of the bike, up to £2,100.

If the bike is recovered with damage or missing items, the customer must pay for all reasonable damage and losses for which they are responsible, including:

• missing or damaged batteries;
• damaged or missing parts;
• keys;
• locks;
• accessories;
• mechanical or electrical repairs;
• reasonable recovery/transport costs.

The customer must report any theft immediately to BR E-BIKES and, where required, to the police.

The customer must bring the bike to BR E-BIKES for periodic maintenance when required.

Maintenance appointments must be booked through the BR E-BIKES booking system.

Failure to attend required maintenance may result in the bike being remotely locked and/or the rental being terminated.

Punctures, accident damage, negligence and damage caused by misuse or unauthorised modifications are not included in normal maintenance.

The customer must comply with all applicable UK traffic laws.

The customer must NOT:

• install an unauthorised throttle;
• modify the speed limit;
• modify the motor;
• modify or replace the controller to increase performance;
• modify software or firmware to increase speed;
• make any modification that could make the bike illegal for road use.

If an unauthorised modification causes the bike to be seized, damaged or lost, the customer is responsible for the resulting costs.

If the bike cannot be recovered, the customer must pay the replacement value, up to £2,100.

The bike may have an active GPS tracking and remote locking system.

These systems may be used for security, fleet management, theft prevention, recovery and management of this rental agreement.

It is STRICTLY PROHIBITED to remove, disconnect, damage, block or interfere with the GPS or security systems.

In the event of an accident, the customer must:

• take photos of the bike and accident scene;
• obtain details of any third parties involved;
• obtain vehicle details where applicable;
• notify BR E-BIKES as soon as possible.

The customer must not authorise major third-party repairs without prior permission from BR E-BIKES, except where immediately necessary for safety.

To end the rental, the customer MUST give BR E-BIKES at least 7 full days' notice before the intended return date.

The customer must also book/notify the return through the official BR E-BIKES online return/booking system.

Simply bringing the bike to the shop without following the required notice and return procedure does NOT replace the 7-day notice requirement.

The bike must also be returned with all items supplied by BR E-BIKES, including batteries, chargers, keys, locks and accessories.

Missing or damaged items may be charged separately. If the amount owed exceeds the security deposit, the customer must pay the difference.

BR E-BIKES may remotely lock the bike and/or terminate the rental agreement in cases of:

• non-payment;
• serious misuse;
• unauthorised modifications;
• GPS tampering;
• unauthorised subletting;
• serious breach of these rental terms.

Outstanding amounts remain payable even if the bike is locked or the agreement is terminated.

Unpaid debts may be referred for lawful debt recovery and/or legal action.

By signing this agreement, I confirm that:

• I have read and agree to the BR E-BIKES Rental Terms.
• I understand the minimum rental period is 30 days.
• I understand that I must give at least 7 full days' notice before returning the bike and follow the required return/booking procedure.
• I understand that if I do not provide the required 7 days' notice or do not follow/book the required return procedure, I will lose my FULL security deposit.
• I understand that I am responsible for damage, negligence, theft, loss and missing items as described in this agreement.
• I understand that I may be required to pay up to £2,100 if the bike is stolen/lost due to my negligence and cannot be recovered.
• I understand that unauthorised speed modifications, throttles, controller modifications and GPS tampering are prohibited.
• I agree to the use of GPS tracking and remote locking as described in this agreement.

• manter a pressão correta dos pneus;
• providenciar o reparo de furos;
• pagar os custos relacionados aos pneus;

• baterias;
• carregadores;
• chaves;
• cadeados;
• acessórios;

• deixar a bicicleta ligada e desacompanhada;
• deixar a bicicleta destrancada ou sem segurança adequada;
• não utilizar os equipamentos de segurança fornecidos/recomendados;
• deixar a bicicleta em local claramente inseguro;
• remover a bateria quando isso comprometer o sistema de segurança/rastreamento;

• bateria perdida ou danificada;
• peças perdidas ou danificadas;
• chaves;
• cadeados;
• acessórios;
• reparos mecânicos ou elétricos;

• instalar acelerador não autorizado;
• alterar o limite de velocidade;
• modificar o motor;
• modificar ou substituir a controladora para aumentar o desempenho;
• modificar software ou firmware para aumentar a velocidade;

• tirar fotos da bicicleta e do local;
• obter os dados das outras pessoas envolvidas;
• obter os dados dos veículos envolvidos, quando aplicável;

• falta de pagamento;
• mau uso grave;
• modificações não autorizadas;
• adulteração do GPS;
• sublocação não autorizada;
