We started with one bike and a soldering iron.
In 2022, two Brazilian mechanics living in south London — fed up with unreliable delivery bikes, cowboy repair shops, and throttle-converted scooters masquerading as e-bikes — rebuilt a single second-hand Eskuta in a shared garage. That bike went on to clock 14,000 miles without a major fault. Word got around the Brazilian courier community first, then the wider food-delivery scene.
By the end of 2023 we had ten bikes, a proper workshop in New Cross, and a waiting list. Today we're a team of mechanics, riders and operations staff running rentals, retail, and fleet contracts for councils and enforcement teams — all from the same two London branches.
"We never wanted to be a tech company or a scooter startup. We wanted a workshop that treats a delivery rider's livelihood the same way we'd treat our own." — BR E-Bikes founding team
What we actually do, today.
Weekly rentals for individuals and delivery riders — a road-legal e-bike, GPS, full maintenance, and a team that picks up WhatsApp at 9pm on a Sunday. Retail sales and workshop services for anyone in south London with an e-bike that needs fixing, upgrading, or replacing. Fleet solutions for councils, police, enforcement, and delivery operators who want a single partner for supply, livery, tracking and servicing.
Every bike we rent, sell, or manage passes through our workshop before it goes out the door. Every fault gets diagnosed by the same mechanic who'd ride it home. That's the whole model.
